The foundation for MTEC (which stands for 'Medical Translation Experts for CROs') was laid by three translators: Jolanda Bijl, Katrien De Clercq and Veronique Doggen. Very often, we would notice that the quality of clinical trial documents that were sent to us for review was quite subpar. Some translation agencies don't always hire the best translator for a project, but rather the cheapest ones and we think the people who end up reading those documents deserve better than that—especially patients who are participating in clinical trials.​

That is how the idea of MTEC began to take root. Since those early days, we have formed a network of experienced medical and pharmaceutical translators working in various language combinations. We mainly work for CROs, but most of us also translate other types of medical documents, such as patient information leaflets, summaries of product characteristics, instructions for use, hospital release forms, medical reports, medical and health-related marketing documents etc.
